Survived the MTC!

Elder Reber left the MTC (Missionary Training Center) early Tuesday morning. He called the family at the airport (per mission rules of course!). When asked if he gained weight he replied, "Oh, YES! I gained FOUR pounds!"  Needless to say he was thrilled. He wanted to let everyone know that he loves them and prays for his friends and family daily. He loves feeling the spirit daily and has really enjoyed the weekly devotionals.  That night his mission president's wife called Ben and Linda to let them know that he arrived safely and that they are really excited that he is there. We can't wait for a letter! Here are some pics his mission posted.

Last MTC post

Dear World,

I'm doing great and the food is good. How is everyone? Thanks for the letters and the packages. I leave to the airport at 7:00 on Tuesday so please been at the Reber home for a while so I can hear your voices before I head out. The teachers are working us hard. Can you tell my friends that I'd like to hear from them? Oh..... and by the way please send more letters because I get homesick if I don't recieve any letters. So please send more and please send me more ties and not food. I mean, thanks for the food and all but I can't eat it all before tuesday. Well we heard Elder Evans speak on tuesday and I'm getting along with my roomates more. It's hard but sometimes it's fun. Quincy my district leader went to the U. I miss you but that doesn't worry me to much. We only get 30 minute in the MTC but out there we get to be on a whole lot longer. keep smiling. I'm won't be gone for long. The Battle has only just begun and I'll GO and DO the Thing Which the Lord Commands. If you go to Temple square anytime with in the next few months or year look for sister Chadderton, sister Magoay, sister Anderson, and sister Chovria. Their all in my district but their all going to temple square. So until tuesday see you later.

MTC Handwritten Letter

August 9, 2012

Dear Family,

Tuesday we had devotional and the person that spoke was Elder Dellenbach. He taught us to give our thoughts to God. The days are feeling like minutes now. It’s hard to believe it’s only been eight days, I feel like it has been eight weeks. The people here are great, but the food here is even better. The first few days I felt tired, but now I’m awake and hard at work. The most progress I’ve had is with the teachers, they understand me. I have an Elder in my zone that is really fun. My smile is shining really bright. Oh and before I forget, how’s my little bud Mason? This place feels a little like home.

Quincy, Shane, Caleb, I want you guys to know I miss you and I want you to know I think of you daily. So stay strong. Shane and Quincy, I was wondering if you’ll learn the Haka for me and if you’ll perform it for me when I return. So, I’ll give you two years to perfect it. Josh and Jamie, just keep smiling and help mom and dad. I wish you could see me and my district. We have a threesome in our group.

If you see the Bishop, Price, Rustin, Milton, Ted and their families, tell them hi for me—and tell the whole ward I’m doing great.

Your,

Elder Reber

P.S. Send me more ties, please.

P.S.S. Mariah, I know the Lord loves you and he wants to hear your voice.

MTC Week 1

Dear Friends and Family,
The MTC is really fun My companion is Elder Jones. We have struggled with our investigators, but I know they'll come through. The food is great  and I've eaten more than I use to. I'm working real hard to focus on the work.. I've gotten closer with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. These last few night I've been having some really scary dreams . I'd like to know how you all are doing and I meant Josh can play with my Legos not dust them. I miss all of you and your letters are great but please keep sending them and tell me all the thing you all have been doing. I saw Elder Hulsey yesterday we actually ran into each other Oh and Aunt Debbie, I've been laughing about that story for a while now. I'm wondering what Shane, Quincy, and Caleb are up too because I haven't gotten any letters from them, but it's in their own time. My Pday is Thursday so you'll have to wait a while until I e-mail you. Can you get Jeff and Boo Boo's Mailing Addresses for me.
With Smiles,
Elder Reber
P.S. "Tomorrow is long, yesterday is gone but today Is here so enjoy it while is lasts."
